Inspiring Excellence in Every Student

Over the coming years, Currituck County Schools will build on our strengths and expand our practices to transform our teaching and learning environments.

Strategic Plan 2021-2026

Strategic planning began in March 2021 in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This exercise allowed Currituck County Schools to recognize our strengths and identify strategic areas where investments should be made to address the needs and priorities of the school district.

The development of the plan occurred in partnership with the Currituck County Board of Education, Currituck County Board of Commissioners, faculty and staff of the school district, parents and guardians, and numerous other community stakeholders. Over several months, ten listening sessions were held with different stakeholders to learn what is working and what we can do to expand and improve the quality of services we offer to our students, staff, families, and community.

Overall, we connected with more than 400 stakeholders and collected over 7,500 data points to design our strategic plan. Currituck County Schools' staff and partners worked throughout the strategic planning process to help define our mission and values.

The Currituck County Schools' District Strategic Plan outlines our districts mission and values, forces that shape us, strategic initiatives, and implementation.
