    Tanya Talley- EC Teacher

I am a native of Elizabeth City, however, have been living in Grandy for the past 20 years. I am married and have two daughters. My oldest is a freshman at University of North Carolina Wilmington, and my youngest is in 8th grade at Currituck County Middle School. My family and I like to travel and spend time together as much as we can. We have a camper, therefore, during the summer we travel around the country for several weeks at a time. This summer we traveled to California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, and West Virginia.

I have been teaching special education in the elementary school for 19 years, 18 ½ which have been for Currituck County Schools. I have also taught the Summer Reading Camp each summer since it was started in 2013. My certification is in Learning Disabilities, however, I have taught children with a variety of disabilities. This includes students with ADHD, Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, and Intellectual Disabilities.

    IEPs

We will be meeting at least once this school year to develop a new IEP. When it is time to meet with you about your child, you will receive an invitation to come in. If you are coming in for an Annual Review, you will receive a DRAFT IEP for you to review before our meeting.

However, you may schedule an IEP at any time. Please make sure you explain why you want to meet so that we can be prepared.

My planning time is the best time to reach me: Daily from 11:00-12:00 or you can email me at Ttalley@currituck.k12.nc.us.
