    Hello from Mrs. Hughes

     

     
     
    I am so excited about being your child's AIG teacher! This will be my 11th year teaching in Currituck County. Before taking on this AIG role, I taught 6th grade math, at MMS, and coached the MMS track team for the last 3 years. I was also named the  Moyock Middle School and Currituck County Teacher of the Year in 2021.
     Prior to teaching at the middle school level, I taught at MES for 7 years, coaching our Math 24 team for all 7 years. I also taught at Central Elementary, in Barco, and at Corporate Landing Elementary, in Virginia Beach. 
    I earned my Bachelors degree, in Business Administration, from Tarleton State University, in Stephenville, TX. 
    I completed my Masters program at Regent University, in Virginia Beach, VA. My teaching certification is Pre-K through 6th grade in all areas and Pre-K-9, in some middle school content areas.  My AIG licensure is through Barton College, here in North Carolina.
    I am also the mother of a Currituck County High School sophomore and a senior and I have been happily married for 19 years.
    I am so looking forward to working with your child this year.
