Welcome to Mrs. Weishampel's First Grade Class!Hi there Firsty~Families! My name is Sara Weishampel (pronounced “Why sample”) and this is my 11th year teaching in public schools. I graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida in 2008 and taught my first year in Pasco County, FL (a second/third grade combo class). I was married to my high school sweetheart (CCHS to be exact ;) in July of 2005. In 2009 I took 1 year off after the birth of my first daughter, Savanna Grace (now 8), and after moving back home to NC, began teaching again. I taught First grade for 2 years in Elizabeth City, took another 5 months off when I had my second daughter, Sierra Faith (now 5), and returned in January of 2013 to finish out the school year with another great group of Firsties. I joined the MES team to teach First Grade in 2014 and was estatic to be a part of such an incredible staff. In 2015/2016 I taught a first/second grade combination class which turned out to be a FABULOUS experience and I also had my third daughter on February 29th of that year. Her name is Spring Addison, and boy is she an amazing handful. :) It was an adventurous school year to say the least!
I am truly ecstatic to be teaching in my favorite elementary school. I went to Kindergarten through 6th grade at Moyock Elementary and this beautiful school house has always had my heart. Teaching is a HUGE passion of mine! I love to share my zeal for learning with my first grade babies and I feel seriously blessed every year with the group of children that are entrusted to me. Thanks for reading a bit about me—I could NOT be happier to be your child’s teacher!
