Welcome to the Currituck County Middle School (CCMS) counselor page!   This is my seventh school year serving the students and families of Currituck County Schools and first as school counselor at CCMS. Prior to coming to Currituck County Schools in 2010, I worked in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Dare County school systems as both a school social worker and school counselor.   I am proud and excited to work for the students and families at this school and be a part of the Raider family.

I hold a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from the College of William and Mary (1997) a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (1999), and a School Counselor License from East Carolina University (2002).  In 2007 I received my clinical social work license from the North Carolina Social Work Board.

School counselor duties include individual counseling, connecting students and families to community resources, scheduling student classes, transitioning 8th grade students to high school and 5th grade students to middle school, providing classroom guidance, monitoring student attendance, and conferring with teachers, parents, and other staff to discuss school related concerns.
As an educator and child advocate I believe all children are capable of experiencing success in, and out of, the classroom!

In my free time I enjoy running, working out at the YMCA, reading, cooking, fashion, traveling, and spending time with my husband and other family, English Bulldog, and friends.

It is an honor and privilege to be a part of your child's life.  Middle school is a special time in a child's life and I enjoy seeing students grow into young men and women.  Please email or call me with any questions or concerns regarding your student.
