• Welcome to AIG

My name is Helen Taylor, and I am excited to be the AIG consulting teacher at Moyock Elementary and Jarvisburg Elementary.  I am beginning my fifteenth year as an educator, spending three years as a teacher assistant and nine years as a second and third grade teacher at Shawboro Elementary.  I started as the AIG Consulting teacher in January 2018.

In 2004, I graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and cognitive science.  In 2008, I completed my teaching licensure program (K-6) at Elizabeth City State University.  In May 2020, I graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a master's degree in elementary education leadership with a focus in curriculum and instruction.  I am currently working towards another master's degree in school administration.  I am also both locally endorsed and state certified to teach Academically and Intellectually Gifted students.

I am looking forward to a productive year, full of engaging learning experiences.  I truly believe education to be of the utmost importance and I hope to share my love of learning with my students.
