Welcome to 3rd Grade with Ms. Osmon!I'll be your student's English Language Arts teacher this year!
Hello! My name is Ms. Osmon!
I am so happy to be in my 8th year at Jarvisburg Elementary School! I am from Nags Head, NC and graduated from Manteo High School. I attended college at the University of North Carolina in Asheville. There, I earned a BS in Health and Wellness promotion and minored in Sociology. Shortly after graduating, I realized my true calling was teaching so I earned my K-6 Teaching License from UNCA as well. Upon earning my teaching license, I returned to the beach to begin my career at JES. The beach is my home and I love working in Currituck County!
I strive to provide a happy, positive, and productive learning environment for all students! JES is the most wonderful place! Reading is one of my favorite hobbies and I try to pass on my love of reading to students. I think it is extemely important to keep learning and growing throughout life! In December of 2017 I earned my National Boards Teaching Certifcation specializing in Early Childhood Education/Ages 3-8. I am currently enrolled at Elizabeth City State University's Masters of Elementary Education program. My students help me learn and become a better educator each day! I love them! I look forward to building lasting relationships with students and their families each year!
I am passionate about living a healthy and positive lifestyle! In my free time, I love walking, biking, and doing yoga. I am a certified yoga instructor and currently teach at Westside Athletic Club. I also love to spend quality time with my friends and family. My family means so much to me!
This year at JES we continue to incorporate Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People into our daily routines. Watch your students transform into leaders both at school and home as they exhibit the seven habits below!
