    dog Meet the teacher:  Donna Collie
    I am  a native of Currituck County.  I attended Dr. W.T. Griggs Elementary School K-6th.  I attended J. P. Knapp Junior High for grades 7-8.  I graduated from Currituck County High School.  I attended Atlantic Christian College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  I am a county certified AIG teacher.  For the last 31 years, I have taught at Griggs Elementary.  I have taught fifth, fourth, second, first grades and kindergarten.  This year I am teaching third grade writing, science, and social studies. I enjoy spending time with my grown daughter, teaching children, traveling, reading, collecting shells, and playing tennis.
