    Hello!  My name is Annette Markham, and I am your child's 3rd grade Language Arts  teacher.  I grew up here in Currituck and in the Albemarle area (Elizabeth City and Weeksville).  This will be my 25th year teaching at Griggs Elementary. Even though I grew up some in Pasquotank County, I attended public schools in the Currituck district from grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.  I continued my education at Elizabeth City State University and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education and then attended East Carolina University for my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. 
     
    I am married with two beautiful daughters and one handsome son!  Hayley, my oldest, is 20 years old and is attending East Carolina University.  My youngest daughter, Ava, is 11 years old and is in 6th grade at CCMS.  My son, Gray, is the youngest at 8 years old in 3rd grade here at Griggs. (He'll be seeing me a lot this year! :))
     
    I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and children.  I love to travel to the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina! (My sister and brother live there!)
