Jamie Haislop, Assistant Principal

I am excited to continue as the Assistant Principal at Shawboro Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year!
I attended the University of West Florida where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (1997). I taught elementary school in both Florida and Virginia before moving to North Carolina. After relocating to Moyock, I taught at Moyock Elementary School for 16 years. During that time I taught first and third grade, and served as the MTSS specialist for a year. I had the opportunity to serve on several leadership teams at both the school and district level. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with a variety of educators and affect change in our schools.
Wanting to continue in this capacity, I attended Liberty University to obtain a Masters in Education Supervision and Administration (2019) and began my new journey as Assistant Principal at Shawboro Elementary School five years ago.
I am blessed to work with dedicated educators who strive to provide quality instruction in an ever-changing environment. I plan to uphold Shawboro Elementary's mission to provide a positive learning experience that allows students to explore, learn, and grow by working collaboratively with families. I look forward to getting to know the students and their families this school year.
