    I grew up in Cherryville, a small town close to Charlotte, North Carolina.  My town is known for "Sundrop", "Duke's mayonnaise", and "baseball". I graduated from Cherryville High School and went to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Arts Degree in Psychology. I received my certification in school counseling by continuing to take courses at Appalachian State University and East Carolina University.I currently live in Chesapeake, Virginia and have been a school counselor at Moyock Elementary going on twenty-nine years.  I have a seventeen year old daughter.

    Individual and Group Counseling for students

     

    Conferences with parent/teacher to discuss school related problems

     

    Individual Parent Conferences concerning the child's academic, behavioral,

    emotional, and social needs

    Provide information and materials to help parents with their children and

    to help teachers with the students

    Liaison to the community and resource people/agencies

    Consults with teacher, parent, principal, etc. regarding the student

    Student of the Month/Leadership Program (Sept.-May)

     

    Be a Buddy Program/Mentor for a child (Sept.-June)

    Red Ribbon Week/Say No to Drugs and Bullying (Oct.23-27)

    Angel Tree/Helping families in need (Nov./Dec.)Currituck County 4-H Backpacks For Kids Program

    (Sept.-June) Donated school supplies are always welcome.
