Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year. My name is Rudy van Oekel and I am an EC self-contained
teacher. This is my 34 th year teaching. I spent the first 32 years in Virginia Beach Public Schools where for
18 years I taught self-contained ED, for 7 years AP Psychology, Psychology, Sociology and the last 7 years
Economics and Personal Finance. I also coached soccer and field hockey. This is my second year at
Currituck. I look forward to building relationships with my students, parents, and colleagues. Please feel
