My name is Randy West.  I am a graduate of Saint Leo College with a degree in Psychology and hold a Master's Degree from Old Dominion University in Secondary Education with a Postgraduate Professional License in 6-8 grades specializing in History/Social Sciences and English. My hobbies include golf, boating, cooking, and guitar.  I am married with three children and five grandchildren.

EXPECTATIONS:

I am a Student-Centered Educator.  I encourage students to collaborate effectively while I facilitate their learning through dialogue and group interaction.  My class is designed to provide the students with an understanding of North Carolina and U.S. History.  A broad understanding of critical thinking as well as rigor will be applied to the curriculum in order to promote 21st century learners.

HOMEWORK:

I do not assign Homework.  I do assign Classwork, and any Classwork that does not get completed becomes their Homework.  Sufficient time is provided in class to complete most assignments.  Study time is considered Homework.  Five to ten minutes a night is sufficient.
