•  My name is Amy Monroe I'm very excited about being a part of the team at Moyock Elementary School and to have a classroom of 2nd Grade Rockstars! I have been a teacher for 38 years. My husband and I have been married for 40 years and have been blessed with 5 wonderful children and a grandson. My husband and I grew up together in Pennsylvania. In 1985, I earned my BA in Elementary Education in Arizona where I began my teaching career.  I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and K-6th grade Gifted Education.   In 2003, I earned my Masters' Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Gannon University in Pennsylvania. Fourteen years ago we were incredibly blessed to be given the gift and experience of adopting our youngest son. I started working for Currituck County Schools 9 years ago and come to MES from Central Elementary.  My husband and I love living in Currituck County!   I like to spend my time with my husband, children and grandson.  I own and operate Monroe Country Kennels. I breed Golden Retrievers, Shihtzu. Bichons, and Teddy Bear puppies. I also have a little mini farm. I love animals, enjoy scrapbooking, swimming, taking walks on the beach, relaxing on the boat and catching a few fish. My personal goals for your child: To take the time each day to embrace the uniqueness of each child... To slow down long enough to express to them just how special they are... To make certain they know that our day is happier and brighter because they were a part of it... and for the children to be able to instinctively answer, "I AM" when asked this question: "Who is the GREATEST?"
