Currituck County High School

My name is Jewyl Harris. The start of the 2023-2024 School Year will be my 6th year serving as  the Currituck County Learning Center (CCLC) Coordinator. The CCLC is part of Currituck County High School. This is my 20th year with the Curritutuck County School District. I have served as the Restricted Instructional Setting (RIS) Coordinator for 12 years, Media Assistant for 2 years and Study Skills Teacher for one year, all at Moyock Middle School. I am a very "Positive" person and believe that each student has the potential to be successful if they are willing to work hard and stay the course. 

Setting: The CCLC is located on the Currituck County High School campus. It is housed in its own building, with individual classrooms serving 8th - 12th grade students needing its services. 

Curriculum: Students that are referred to the CCLC will utilize the APEX Online Learning Program, in conjunction with direct support from teachers and paraprofessionals. Academic coursework reflects the standards outlined by NCDPI (North Carolina Department of Instructions) and prepares students for state-required end of course exams.
