    Title I

Title I is a federally funded program, a component of the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) of 2015 that is designed to provide supplementary instruction to support students. Schools qualify for Title I funding by demonstrating economic need among its student population. Once qualified for the school-wide Title I program, services may be provided to any student in grades K-5.

Title I funds may be used, with other school funding sources, to provide supports to all students as they work to meet our high academic standards. At Jarvisburg Elementary, the Title I program provides supplementary instructional support in the area of ELA. This program supports small group instruction, Reading Recovery, one on one lessons, along with family events and more.

Each school year staff collaborate to create a Title I plan that outlines best practices that will be used to ensure students are receiving supports to be successful in their academic career. The ultimate goal of the Title I program is to aid students in acquiring habits, attitudes, knowledge, and skills necessary to function as successful member of the school community.

    Your school-wide plan:

    • Was developed in consultation with the LEA.
    • Was developed in consultation with the school improvement team.
