• Hi Y'all!! I'm so excited to be joining MES this year!! I will be the AIG teacher serving students here at MES and JES. I grew up in Southwestern New York state on a dairy farm. I moved to North Eastern North Carolina in 1998. I have been teaching for 17 years. In 2004, I earned a BS in Elementary Education from Elizabeth City State University. Shortly after I began teaching,  I realized I was ready to pursue a Master's degree.  I achieved a M.Ed in Quality Schools from Graceland University in 2008. I continued my love of learning and have since acquired a MSEd in Administration/Leadership from St. Thomas University in 2016 and completed master coursework through Barton University for AIG certification in December 2018. Throughout my educational career, I have served students from third to seventh grade.

I have one daughter and two sons. In May, I got married and gained two bonus sons. Our children range in age from 17-25. We also have three grands and one on the way!  When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, crafting, and watching crime shows.
The quote I strive live by is: Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It's courage that counts by John Wooden.
