Welcome to 4th Grade!

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! I am looking forward to having your child as a student. Fourth grade is such a fun year with so many wonderful learning activities to celebrate. In order to have a fun year, my most important goal is to create a family of learners in my classroom. I am committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is a valued, trusted, and integral part of our family of learners. In order to accomplish this, I have planned a variety of activities to emphasize and reinforce this goal. It is my hope that you will support and encourage this vision at home.

About Me

I am Amber Tyson and this is my 2nd year at GES. I currently live in Currituck County with my husband Joe, our four children, and our two dogs. Our daughter, Savannah, is eleven years old, our daughter, Charlotte, is 9 years old, our son, Hampton, is almost 7 years old, and our son, Bristol, is almost 5 years old. Our dog Dylan is a silver lab and is 3 years old. We also have a silver lab puppy named Grey.  They all keep us very busy!

I attended both the University of Virginia and Gardner-Webb University. I received my Bachelors of Art in Psychology with post-baccalaureate licensure in Elementary Education (K-6).
