    WELCOME TO 2nd - 3rd RESOURCE ROOM
     
         Hello, My name is Erin Gainey and I will be your child's resource teacher for the 2021-2022 school year.  I am excited about getting to know you and your child.
        
    This is my sixth year working for Currituck County Schools, specifically, Shawboro Elementary.  I started as a volunteer, became a sub,  then an EC Teacher Assistant, and now an EC Resource Teacher.  This is my second year as a teacher and I am thrilled to be back at Shawboro. My husband, Brian, works for the United States Coast Guard.  We have been married 16 years. I have two boys that also went to Shawboro Elementary, so Shawboro has been my home for many years. My oldest, Zachary, is 15 and is attending JP Knapp this year.  My youngest, Caleb, is 13 and attends Moyock Middle School.   
     

    This year we are lucky to have Ms. Rebecca Bowser.  This is her third year at Shawboro, working in the EC department.  She brings 19 years of experience and has worked in the Dare County Schools also.  She looks forwards to working with your child.

       I look forward to working with all the students and getting to them.  If there is anything specific you would like me to know please Dojo, email or call.  I believe that working together towards your child's goal is the most important thing.  When it is time for their Annual or Re-evaluation IEP meeting, I will DoJo or email you a letter which will give you several dates and times to choose from.  Please reply to the message as soon as possible, as our calendar fills up quickly.    You will also receive a DRAFT of the IEP we will be discussing in the meeting 7-10 days prior to the meeting via email or via student (your choice). There will be a form attached for you to sign indicating you received the DRAFT and return it to school as soon as possible or if emailed please reply to the email that you received.  Meetings this year will still be conducted via Google Meet, Face to Face or via Phone conference, so please ensure I have your correct phone number and email address.
