Hello Friends, I am Mrs. Peterson and this will be my second year with the KIES family and now as the new second grade teacher. Knotts Island is very special to me because I spent the majority of my secondary years on the island and attended Currituck County High School. I received my associate's from Tidewater Community College, my bachelor's from the University of Virginia, and my master's in Elementary Education from the College of William & Mary. Teaching at KIES is also special to me because my mother-in-law, Robin Peterson (the OG Peterson) taught here and most of our family were students at this school too, including my husband, Mr. Peterson, and hopefully our son will join the Pre-K class in two years. A few more things about me include: I have a golden retriever, Dasher, and a cat, Artie; I love books and collecting classic literature; my hobbies are watching movies, reading, spending time with my family, going to Carova beach, and finding ways to make learning fun. I can't wait for the new school year to begin and to meet my future students. Go Woodducks!
