• Mrs. Hart  Teaching is a work of heart

Welcome to Kindergarten!  My name is Kara Hart.  I grew up in Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Radford University in 2011.  I majored in Elementary Education with a concentration in math and science.  Before teaching, I moved to Salt Lake City, UT to be a snowboard instructor at Snowbird Resort.  When I returned to the east coast, I moved to the outer banks.  My teaching career started as a substitute teacher for Dare County in 2012.  I became an interim English as a second language teacher in April 2013.  After my interim period, I became a full time ESL teacher in various schools in Dare County for 6 years.  My goal had always been to be an Elementary teacher so I was ecstatic when I was hired at Jarvisburg Elementary in 2019 to teach kindergarten.  Dreams come true when you work hard for it!  I absolutely love teaching my little jaguars!

Some of my interests are snowboarding, swimming, boating, camping, fishing, beachin' and art.  I love nature and love to be outdoors so I try to be outside as much as possible!  I spend all my spare time with my husband and 2 beautiful daughters.  Family time is very important and valuable to me!  I am also an animal lover!   I have 2 big labrador retrievers and a cat.
