• "An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you know and what you don't."

    Welcome!!

This is my 15th year teaching science here at Currituck County High School. I have a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Biology and minor in Chemistry from ECSU. I am certified 9-12 Science. In 2011-12 I was awarded Currituck County Science teacher of the year. In 2012-2013, I became a Kenan Fellow where I did an fellowship with NASA through Elizabeth City State University. I am also a Hope Street Group Teacher Voice Fellow for NC 2017-19. In 2019 I was selected as a 100kin10 Teacher Forum Member.

While I am not at school, you will find me spending time with my family which includes my husband who is a chiropractor in Elizabeth City (River City Chiropractic), and  three children ranging in age from 11 years to 24.  I am constantly checking my email, so if you ever have any questions or concerns about your child, please contact me as my door is always open!
