WELCOME TO 4th RESOURCE ROOM

 Hello, My name is Bobbie Johnson and I will be your child's resource teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.  I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child.  I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I've been married for 32 years and we have four wonderful daughters who all graduated from Currituck County Schools.  I am also a grandmother to two beautiful little granddaughters and two handsome grandsons. I have a bachelor's degree in Special Education (K/12) and General Education (K/6) from Western Governors University, along with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.   When I began in Currituck County Schools, I was a teacher assistant for almost 10 years (Central Elementary, Shawboro Elementary, and Moyock Middle School).  During the 2014-2015 school year, I began my teaching career right here at Shawboro Elementary as an Exceptional Children's teacher.

     This year we are lucky to have Mrs. Amy Gould and Mrs. Morrisette as our instructional assistance.  We look forward to working with all the students and getting to them.  If there is anything specific you would like for me to know please Dojo, email or call.  I believe that working together towards your child's goal is the most important thing.  When it is time for their Annual or Reevaluation IEP meeting, I will DoJo or email you a letter which will give you several dates and times to choose from.  Please reply to the message as soon as possible as our calendar fills up quickly.    You will also receive a DRAFT of the IEP we will be discussing in the meeting 7-10 days prior to the meeting via email or via student (your choice). There will be a form attached for you to sign indicating you received the DRAFT and return it to school as soon as possible or if emailed please reply to the email that you received it.  Meetings this year will still be conducted via Google Meet, Face to Face or via Phone conference so please ensure I have your correct phone number and email address.
