School Improvement Plan and Implementation MapCurrituck County High School establishes a School Improvement Team each school year comprised of teachers, teacher assistants, and parents to review data and set goals for improving each year. Effective school improvement planning contributes to overall school performance by:- Establishing an understanding of the “big picture” of a school's current state, including student achievement, school environment, teacher community, parent community, and administrative issues;
- Reaching consensus across the school community on which needs represent the highest priorities for action based upon the potential to improve overall student and school performance; and
- Identifying implementation strategies, including specific targets, activities, and milestones required to meet our goals.
The CCHS School Improvement Team meets on a regular basis to assess data related to school performance and monitor action steps toward the full implementation of school improvement goals. Student academic data, program area data, and resource allocation data are reviewed as part of this improvement cycle. Our school’s plan is centered on two or three transforming initiatives which will be implemented over the course of the next several years. While the initiatives will remain the same, our action steps for implementing and improving the implementation will change based on our data analysis. School Improvement plans are connected to our district’s strategic plan and reflect the needs of our school, based on our data analysis. Currituck County Schools is now housing all School Improvement Plans on the website listed below. Below is how to access our school improvement plan:
