School Nurses

School nurses play a vital role in supporting student and staff access to a safe and healthy educational environment. They promote health and safety, intervene with actual and potential health problems, provide case management, and coordinate communication and resources.
School Nursing Services include, but are not limited to:
• Individual health care needs assessments for students
• Health care plan development
• School staff instruction and supervision of care for students with special health care needs
• Emergency and injury care
• Communicable disease control and outbreak response in schools
• Health-related community resource liaison for schools
