MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support)

The Integrated Academic and Behavior Systems Division at North Carolina Department of Public Instruction supports the implementation and sustainability of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).  The agency’s vision for MTSS is that every North Carolina pre-kindergarten-12th grade public education system implements and sustains all components of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports to ensure college, career and community readiness for all students.

Currituck County Schools MTSS is a multi-tiered framework that promotes school improvement through engaging, research-based academic and behavioral practices. The Currituck County Schools MTSS framework aligns with the North Carolina Framework for Multi-Tiered System of Support, employing a systems approach using data-driven problem-solving to maximize growth for all.

MTSS itself is a total school improvement framework for ALL students.
