CCHS is located in the center of Currituck County in Barco, North Carolina. Approximately 30 minutes from theCCHSbeautiful Outer Banks, our school serves all students residing in Currituck County, including Knotts Island and Corolla.

As our district's traditional comprehensive high school, Currituck County High serves approximately 1,000 students in grades 9-12. We provide each student an extensive selection of courses and academic programs to choose from, including college preparatory, career and technical education, as well as honors and advanced placement classes. Our instructional day operates on a 4x4 block schedule with 85 minutes per class period.  In addition to traditional instruction on the 4x4 block, a Power Time offers students 25 minutes each day for other instructional opportunities, including tutoring, clubs, special topics, and/or engaging in physical activities or socialization.  This spring, CCHS was authorized by the College Board as one of only 1,800 schools worldwide to confer the prestigious Advanced Placement Capstone diploma, recognized by colleges and universities as among the most rigorous in the nation.
