Board of Education Meeting Information

The Currituck County Board of Education holds its regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month unless otherwise announced/noted (*).    

The Board conducts paperless meetings using Simbli, services provided by eBOARDsolutions. Agendas are released five (5) days prior to the meeting date. The meeting agenda is set by the Superintendent and Board Chairman. Items for the agenda should be submitted in writing to the Superintendent's Office seven (7) working days before the scheduled meeting. Inclusion of items is at the discretion of the Superintendent and Board Chairman.

Meeting dates marked with an asterisk (*) indicate a date scheduled outside the typical third Thursday of the month.

Public Comments

The regular scheduled meeting has a public comment session in which citizens may speak to the Board about education related topics. As a matter of order, members of the Board will not respond to persons addressing the Board, but may ask the Superintendent to act or gather additional information on the topic. Citizens are allowed three (3) minutes to speak. Personnel or individual student matters are not appropriate for this public forum. Concerns of this nature should be submitted to the Board of Education in writing. 

Work Sessions

Work Sessions are held at 4 p.m. on each scheduled meeting date in the Professional Learning Center (PLC) located in the C Building of the J.P. Knapp Early College High School campus.*
