    Welcome to 3rd Grade!

My name is Maryann Doyle. I am a Currituck County native where I live with my husband. We have one son, one grandaughter, and two grandsons.

I worked as a teacher assistant for about 15 years in different grade levels. This gave me the opportunity to watch and learn from some amazing teachers.  I went back to school and graduated in 2010 from Elizabeth City State University with my Bachelors degree. I am licensed to teach K-6. I have taught 1st grade for one year and 2nd grade for 6 years. This will be my fifth year teaching 3rd grade.

Third grade is a year of important transitions as well as learning new skills. This will be your child's first expreience with Beginning of Grade testing or BOG'S as well as many more. However, I hope to make your child's learning experience a fun and exciting one. More than anything I hope to instill a love of learning. Something very important to keep in mind is that we will build on small successes. Each child progresses at his/her own rate. Supporting each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for their future growth will always remain a priority.

Here are some ways you can help:

    • Celebrate your child's success, no matter how small it may seem.
    • Read to or with your child every day, if possible.

Celebrations will help keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their work! Reading with and to your child exposes them to language, making it easier for him/her to incorporate new skills in reading and writing in the classroom.

I am excited and ready for our year to begin.

I am looking forward to working with your child this school year to help your child reach their fullest potential. If you have questions please don't hesitate to email me at, madoyle@currituck.k12.nc.us or call me at 252-232-2237 and I will get back with you as soon as possible. Classdojo is another means of communication we use.

My classroom is room number 310, which is all the way at the end of the red hallway on the left side.
