• Ms. Chambers

Hello! My name is Michelle Chambers. I teach interactive Career Technology Education funded courses to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Currently, Exploring Careers is an insightful course that allows sixth grade students to explore the various career clusters, the specific jobs found within each cluster, and the various skills/interests that are needed for specific clusters.

Our seventh grade students work through Exploring Business and Entrepreneurship to learn about the types of business, what it takes to operate a business, what drives people to want to run their own business as well as in depth review of all sections of the business plan.

The eighth grade students are learning the various functions and capabilities of the MicroSoft Office Suite, types of documents used within industry, and best industry practices in our Office Productivity class.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Elizabeth City State University. I have been teaching for 3 years. However, as part of the Career Technical Education initiative, I bring over 20 years of industry experience to the classroom. I have worked within the realm of finance for 15 years. I find the experience of teaching middle school students the inner workings of the business world as well as helping to guide students towards career goals incredibly rewarding.
