Course Description:
Common Core Math 2 is an extension of Math I (prerequisites) and will cover real numbers, quantities, seeing structure in expressions, arithmetic with polynomials and rational expressions, interpreting functions, building functions, congruence, similarity, right triangles, trigonometry, expressing geometric properties with equations, measurement and dimension, modeling with geometry, making inferences and justifying conclusions, statistics and probability.
Students will be asked to be engaged in investigation & conjecture instead of just giving answers. They will be required to make observations about a situation & draw on previous material taught before moving on to more focused work. Students will learn to provide a mathematical argument, proof, or explanation for their work, & explore situations by generating empirical examples & looking for patterns.
