My name is Nicole Derby and I am excited to be starting my 7th year as School Counselor! Just a little about myself: I graduated from Currituck County High School and went on to attend UNC (Go Heels!), Elizabeth City State University, and Capella University where I earned my Master's in School Counseling. I have four children. My oldest son is living and working in California. My daughter is in her 2nd year at Hofstra Law School in NY. My middle son is in his fourth year in Chapel Hill on the wrestling team at Carolina! My youngest son is a senior at Currituck High School. (I am somewhat of a Tarheel fan!)
I find that many parents and guardians are not exactly sure what the school counselor does so I found a helpful graphic:
I look forward to working with you and your students to make this a great school year!
My schedule has changed a little this year. I will be at
JES
every morning from 8:00-11:30 and GES every
