Course Description

NC Math 3 is an extension of Math I & II (prerequisites). We will advance our studies & cover the state standards on statistics, functions & their graphs, polynomials, rational functions, sequences, exponential equations, geometry, and trigonometry.

Students will be asked to be engaged in investigation & conjecture instead of just giving answers. They will be required to make observations about a situation & draw on previous material taught before moving on to more focused work. Students will learn to provide a mathematical argument, proof, or explanation for their work, & explore situations by generating empirical examples & looking for patterns.
