What are we learning this year?
Language Arts:
This year in language arts, students will be reading to understand, reading with a purpose, reading beyond the text, and making connections with what they are reading, while practicing grammar and writing skills throughout the year.
Math:
This year in math, students will be covering geometry, ratios and proportions, probability, number sense, equations, and expressions to real world applications. We will be using Open Up Resources this year.
Science:
This year in science, students will learn about weather and Earth's atmosphere, cell basics and genetics, motion and forces, simple machines, circuit basics, and energy transformation.
Social Studies:
This year in social studies, the students will be studying the world from the Age of Exploration to the present. The focus will be on the critical moments in world history that shaped the development of modern societies.
