    Dear students and families,

    Welcome to band at Currituck County Middle School! This  will be my 11th year in Currituck County and I am thrilled to be here! I am a life time native of Virginia Beach, VA. I graduated from East Carolina University in 2013 and earned a Bachelor's of Music Education with a concentration on French horn. I am also an assistant director for the Currituck Marching Knights and taught world class drum corps for three years.

    The band classes here at CCMS are designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of understanding and playing music while having a fun and enjoyable time.
     
    Most information for band will be uploaded through GOOGLE CLASSROOM, not this teacher webpage. Once the classes are set up, I encourage you to join the class! Information will be sent home later.

    Interesting facts on Mr. K:

          - I can play more than 10 instruments. I am best at French horn, electric bass, and drum set.
          - I am the oldest of 4 brothers. All of us are more than 6 feet tall.
          - I spent three summers, 2014, 2015, and 2016 working with a World Class Drum Corps called Pioneer from Milwaukee, WI
          - I love spending time at the beach and going to concerts.
          - I love to golf as well!
          - I have a deep appreciation for all music. My favorite groups/artists/genres are:
