Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Sharon "Molly" Hurdle

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Sharon "Molly" Hurdle and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I have been at Central Elementary for many years. I have many years of experience working in the special education field. I graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a degree in Sociology and Licensure in Special Education K-12. I love teaching because I care about my student’s education and I feel that every child is unique and learns in a different way.

There are two Teacher Assistants in the classroom this year. They are eager an excited about working each child in the classroom.

In our classroom we will do a lot of hands on activities ,work on IEP Goals,Life skillsand we also swim and  go on community outings. If you ever have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at school from 7:10-7:40 a.m. or from 3:00-3:30 p.m.. daily 252-453-0010 ext: 2016 or 2017 or by email at or dojo.

This year our class will consist of seven students who have varying needs and abilities. We will work diligently to create a schedule that will provide us the opportunity to meet the needs of each of these students. Breakfast will be served in theclassroom this year.  Please assist us with this by having your child at school everyday and make sure they are on time. Although we understand that students have to be out from time to time, it is important to establish a set routine and stick to it. Once again, we are looking forward to working with your child this year.

Thank you and we look forward to a great 2019-2020 school year.
