COURSE DESCRIPTION:In this course, students acquire an understanding of selling, promotion, and market planning of sports, entertainment, and event marketing. English/language arts, mathematics and social studies are reinforced. Work-based learning strategies appropriate include cooperative education, entrepreneurship, internship, mentorship, school-based enterprise, service learning, and job shadowing. Apprenticeship is not available for this course. DECA (an association for Marketing Education students) competitive events, community service, and leadership activities provide the opportunity to apply essential standards and workplace readiness skills through authentic experiences.GRADING SCALE:

-NO CELL PHONES DURING CLASS.
-Working on assignments when classroom time is given for projects.
-Participation in classroom discussions.
-ACTIVE participation in group activities.
-Extra credit will be added to class participation grades.
-I understand that I will only be allowed to go to the restroom and nurse in cases of emergency.
-No food or drink will be allowed in the classroom.
-Class will not be dismissed until all trash is picked up and desk are in order. I understand I must have my notebook and pen or pencil everyday.
