Classroom: We are located in room 7 at the end of the primary hall. Across from the Kindergarten classroom.Hello there! My name is Kathryn Doxey Woodward and I teach 2nd Grade at Central Elementary. This is my 10th year teaching at Central; previously I have taught 1st and 2nd grade. Central Elementary was my elementary school when I was younger so I am very proud to be able to come back and teach here! I was Central Elementary's Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Library Science from ECU.In our classroom we will be working with small groups most of the time. For reading and writing we use a system titled the "Daily 5" in which students have a chance to work independently as well as in small groups and meeting one-on-one with the teacher. In math, we will be working in math stations and completing daily rotation that will include students completing word problems and basic facts daily in order to master those important skills. This rotation will also allow small group and one-on-one time with the teacher. We will be using the EngageNY math program in our rotations. If you have questions, email is the best way to communicate with me! I will respond promptly. You may also message me through our Class Dojo app, write a note, or call the school and leave a voicemail.
