• Science Around the House

We will be studying weather and matter over the course of the first nine weeks. Have your child watch a weather report. Observe and discuss weather changes and temperature. If you have a rain gauge, please show your child how it works. Understanding that the sun warms the land, water, and air is an important component to this as well. If you have a rain gauge, please show your child how it works.

The kitchen is a great place to learn about the three states of matter. When water boils it becomes a gas. Show your child the steam rising from a pot on the stove. Ice is a solid that can change into a liquid if left out.

Children love science. They are curious and love conversations about how our world works.
