    My name is Jonathan O'Briant, and this is my seventeenth year teaching and I am blessed to be full time at Shawboro Elementary. I graduated from  Elizabeth City State University in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in English. I have been playing music for over twenty years and have seen a lot of success bringing my classroom experience into the music department. I know that we learn by doing, and we learn more when we are having fun. I plan to give our students a safe and happy environment to gain confidence and competency across a variety of instruments through active participation while weaving in simple and fun music theory techniques.
