Donna McCloudSecond Grade252 722 0770I graduated from North Carolina State University home of the "Wolfpack" in 1983 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice. I worked for the Commonwealth's Attorneys Office in Virginia Beach, Virginia for five years and then decided to stay at home with my daughter. In 1997 I obtained my license to teach K - 6th grades from Elizabeth City State University. I began my teaching career with Currituck County Schools in 1998 at Knapp Elementary School. The next year I transferred to Knotts Island and taught sixth grade for ten years. In 2009 I moved to fourth grade and taught this grade for eight years. Now I am teaching second grade and I have loved the different experiences I had with many students at KIES.My goal is to help your child become a life time learner and articulate a vision for learning 21st century skills. We are very fortunate at Knotts Island to have the technology tools available so students can learn academic content through real - world examples. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout the school year. Open communication between the teacher and parent will help make this a successful school year for your child.Donna McCloud
