Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Morgan

My name is Claudia Morgan and I am very excited about teaching in 5th grade at Shawboro Elementary again this school year! I am a second-year teacher. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2023 from East Carolina University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies.

I am a product of Currituck County Schools (Shawboro Elementary, Currituck County Middle, and Currituck County High School). It has always been my dream that after graduating college, I would come back to teach in the same county where I was impacted by so many great educators. I am a fourth-generation educator and come from a very long line of educators. My mom, Mrs. Morgan, is a Kindergarten teacher here at Shawboro Elementary.  My grandad, Mr. Casey, taught in the Currituck County School System as a high school math teacher for 30+ years. My grandma, Mrs. Casey, taught in the Currituck County School System as a librarian for 30+ years. These are the people in my life, in addition to some of my previous teachers, who inspired me to pursue a degree in education.

I have always enjoyed working with children and have worked with children of various ages from nannying to tutoring. I student taught in third grade at Rodgers Elementary in Martin County and had two amazing mentor teachers who helped shape me into the teacher I am today. One thing I learned from all of these different experiences working with children, is that every child/learner is unique. I believe that learning is not a one size fits all and it is my goal to meet each child’s needs so that they can succeed within and outside of our classroom walls.

With all that being said, I am excited for a wonderful year in 5th grade with your child! I believe that every child is capable of greatness and it is my goal to support them in achieving their highest potential.

Thank you,

Ms. Morgan
