COVID-19 Information

  • Please communicate with the school nurse if your student develops symptoms of COVID-19.

    According to the CDC:

    • People who have symptoms of respiratory or gastrointestinal infections such as cough, fever, sore throat, vomiting, or diarrhea, should stay home.  Testing for COVID-19 is recommended as soon as possible after symptoms begin.

    • Encourage hand washing

    • Clean surfaces once a day.

    • Staff/Students testing positive should stay out for a full 5 days from when symptoms began; returning on day 6.  It is recommended they wear a mask for 5 additional days.  If the staff/student has symptoms that are not improved after the 5 days, they should not return to school.  The school nurse should be your “go to”.

    • Quarantine is no longer recommended.

    • Currituck County Schools is continuing to provide PRC testing for students and staff.

If you choose to have your student tested, it is required that you register them at the link below:

To register a child please click dependent registration, enter parent/guardian information and then you should see a dependents banner and an add button, click the add button and input the student's information. I do not need a student's ID number, but please fill in the rest of the information.  The results will be sent to the parent/guardian's email or cell phone via text depending on what was selected during the time of registration.
