    Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Moyock Elementary.  I am EXCITED to be your child's teacher this year!  My name is Meredith Fernandez, and this is my 20th year of teaching. I  have two daughters named Madison Alexis  and Mackenzie Grace.  Madison is thrilled to be a freshman and a cheerleader at Currituck High School.  Mackenzie is excited to be a seventh grader as well as a cheerleader at Moyock Middle school.

    I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education).  After teaching first grade for seven years at a Catholic School in Newport News, VA, I decided to take a break from teaching to stay at home with our children. This is my 13th year teaching at Moyock Elementary.

    First grade is such an EXCITING adventure for children as well as their parents!  I feel lucky to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this year.  My objective is to enhance your child's learning through many different activities and to create a nurturing atmosphere where the utmost learning is provided.  I believe that by working together as a team, we'll be able to reach this goal.
