• MES Elementary Battle of the Books

     

    The following are considered when choosing our Battle of the Books team:

    • Members should be in the 4th or 5th grade
    • Adherence to the student contract
    • Meeting attendance (not counting excused absences)
    • Number of books read by team deadlines
    • Performance on the book quiz in December

    Our team competes in the county competition against the other five elementary schools in April. We work hard during the year to know these titles from front to back. Our key goals are to foster a love of reading and teamwork.  

     

    EBOB Questions all begin with “in which book”.   The answer is the title and author. For example: 

    Question: In which book does a character say “I love the precision of statistics… I like wind chimes for the precise musical notes they ring out?” 

    Answer: Ghost Soldier by Elaine Marie Alphin
