I grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and moved to Currituck in 2005 with my husband and two daughters.  I attended Virginia Beach City schools, and graduated from Kellam High School. In 2000, I graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College with a Bachelors degree in Education. I am certified to teach all core subjects,K-6.  I began my teaching career at Knotts Island Elementary in 2000, and I joined the family at Moyock Middle in 2002.  The 2024-2025 school year will be my 25th year of teaching, all of which have been with Currituck County Schools.  I love teaching in the community in which I live.

Infinite Campus and Google Classroom are other great tools to keep up with your child.

Please see the Student Handbook to view School Policies.  This will also be stated in our 2024-2025 welcome letter.

Below, you will see a link to our team's syllabus:

Parents/Guardians: If you are new to having a middle schooler, communication will be a little different than elementary school.  We do not have Class Dojo.  I suggest using Infinite Campus and Google Classroom to keep track of student progress.

Typically, grades are quickly updated.  If work is not turned in, a zero will automatically go into the gradebook.  This reminds students (and parents) that work is missing.  If you have the Infinite Campus app on your phone, you are notified as soon as a grade changes. As a parent myself, Infinite Campus is a great tool.

If you are questioning assignments or just want to be aware of what your child is doing in class, Google Classroom should be your go to.  Google Classroom is updated daily to see what students are doing in class.  Unfortunately, you will have to login as your child (or have your child log in for you).  The parent connection will not show details.

If you have any difficulty accessing Infinite Campus or Google Classroom, I will be happy to meet with you.

Of course, you can always reach me via email or phone.  I will get back to you as soon as possible.
