  • Welcome to our Math class!

I am thrilled to be a part of the sixth and seventh grade math team this year. This is my second year working for Currituck County Schools; last year I worked with exceptional children here at CCMS as a teacher assistant.

    Academics:

I hold a Master's degree in Social Work and spent five years as a hospice social worker. I am currently enrolled in a teacher licensure program through Teachers of Tomorrow. While I may be new to the profession, my enthusiasm and dedication make me a valuable addition to CCMS. This new opportunity has allowed me to come full circle on what was once my childhood dream of teaching middle school mathematics. My teaching approach is centered around making math relevant and accessible. I incorporate real-world examples and interactive activities to bring math concepts to life. By encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills, I will empower our students to become confident and independent learners.

    Beyond the Classroom:

I was born and raised in Indiana before moving to North Carolina in 2015. I settled down with my loving husband in 2018 and enjoy the adventure of raising our three amazing children. I stay busy coaching volleyball, working at our local waterpark and tending to our three dogs and thirty-seven chickens. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing by the pool, deep diving into mystery books, and letting my creativity shine through arts and crafts.

I am thrilled to embark on this educational journey with you! I am eager to collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure a well-rounded educational experience for all students.
