I am excited to be teaching Fire Technology at Currituck County High School. I have a Bachelors of Science in Geography with a minor in Oceanography from Old Dominion University. I am a certified teacher. During college I worked as a carpenter framing houses. For a short time after college I worked as an Environmental Scientist. Then I found the fire service and my true passion. I have been a Volunteer Firefighter, Ocean Rescue Lifeguard, Engineer, Master Firefighter and Captain with the Kitty Hawk Fire Department. I am still a volunteer with Kitty Hawk. I am certified as a: Firefighter I and II, Driver/Operator Pumps, EMT-B, Instructor I and II, Fire Officer I, Incident Safety Officer, Fire Inspector II, NFA Leadership III, Certified Child Safety Seat Inspector and certified Ocean Rescue Lifeguard.
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family, surfing and reading.
