I am thrilled to work with the students, parents, faculty and staff at Jarvisburg Elementary for the remainder of this school year. I worked in public education for 28 years before retiring last school year. I received a master’s degree in school psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I then worked in Brunswick County as a psychologist and Director of Pupil Personnel for eight years. During those years, I earned advanced degrees in administration/supervision from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and from East Carolina University. I moved to the Tidewater area as was fortunate to be able to continue working in the North Carolina system in Currituck County. I had several opportunities in Currituck. These positions were: school psychologist, Supervisor of School Psychologists, Director of Exceptional Children’s Programs, and Assistant Principal at Moyock Elementary School. My favorite positions have always been ones that involve working directly with the children, their families and school personnel. Please visit Jarvisburg Elementary as often as you can. When you are in the school, please come by my office so that I can meet the families of our students.
