GO SPARTANS!

About Mrs. Davenport: Born & raised in the lower end of the county (Powells Point), I attended Griggs Elementary, JPKnapp Middle School, the old CCHS for 9th grade, & in 2001 graduated from the new Currituck County High School, and went on to play basketball & softball at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. I graduated from Methodist University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education- concentrations in Math & Science. This will be my seventh year teaching Mathematics; I taught six years at CCHS in the Freshman Academy; this is my first year as apart of the JPKEC family!  My husband & I have one child, a girl, born April 19th of this year; We are really excited about pursing this new part of our lives as parents.  I am a strong believer in "the harder you work, the luckier you get." I encourage and push my students daily to reach their goals as well as the personal goals that I have set for each of them. If students can remain passionate about learning, success will usually follow.

Likes: Being together with my family, the Lord, going barefoot, Christmas, the underdog, tulips & lilies, fruit, playing basketball, Mustangs, candles, watching football, chocolate chip cookies, naps, poetry, ghost stories, romance, swimming, skittles, sunsets, walking on the Kitty Hawk Pier, a good movie, & Thunderstorms.

Dislikes: Mean People, Thieves, Liars, People who disrespect elders, & Roast Beef.
A Big Family: One Dad (my strength), One Mom (my best friend), One Brother & One Sister, Two Grandparents (my inspiration), One Husband (my everything), One West Highland Terrier (my excitement), & our new addition, One Daughter (my love & laughter). In addition, Four Aunts & Uncles which gives me Twelve first Cousins (always a fun time).
Relevance of all this: I think it is important to know who is teaching your child. You know, the heart and soul behind the classroom & lessons. After all, I do influence your child for about 8 hours per week, and it is my reputation.
